Grape & Tomato Pack Houses at Chandikapur
Under the National Horticulture Mission, SFPCL established pack houses and a Farmer Facility Center at Chandikapur (Vani) clusters. Grading and sorting of grapes and tomatoes are conducted here before dispatch to domestic markets, leading to higher value realization.
The establishment of pack houses enabled SFPCL to add value to the produce by implementing proper grading and sorting standards. This infrastructure investment allowed farmers to realize better prices for premium quality produce and opened up opportunities for export markets. The Farmer Facility Center also provided training and support services to member farmers, enhancing their cultivation and post-harvest management skills.
