Bulk Onion Sales & Pilot Export to Italy
Between 2017–2020, SFPCL procured and transported over 2,500 MT of onions to cities like Chennai, Trichy, and Bangalore. In 2019, 50 MT of onions were exported to Italy as a trial, receiving positive feedback — laying the foundation for future export plans.
This project demonstrated SFPCL's capacity to handle large-scale procurement and logistics. The successful pilot export to Italy opened new avenues for international markets and established SFPCL's credibility in meeting international quality standards. The positive feedback from Italian buyers has paved the way for expanding export operations to other European countries.
